An experimental black tea from the same rocky limestone landscape that produces the popular Tiger Monkey green tea.
Using one and two young leaves of old growth trees, the tea is produced by an artisan tea-maker in a small workshop according to traditional methods. The dry leaves have a very typical Assamica black tea aroma but with a slightly lower oxidation than our other black teas, the brewed tea produces a sparkling tangerine to light red liquor.
Lung Phin black tea has a medium to full body which is especially pleasing and soothing in the throat. The mineral notes that stand out in Tiger Monkey are subdued giving way to a taste sensation that includes nutty, earthy, and toasty. There is also caramel, and a subtle sweet fruitiness reminiscent of stone fruits.
