Thunder Genie is the result of a project to create a prototype dark tea which highlights the unique characteristics of the wild tea trees growing in this remote corner of Muong Khuong district. Inspired by the distinctive Purple Rain green tea from the same locality, Thunder Genie inherits much of the bold mineral, earthy and vegetable flavour profiles of its cousin. Its pale lemon liquor is full bodied with a great balance of sweetness, astringency and bitterness that make it a superb thirst quencher.

Thunder Genie dark tea is produced in a sparsely populated H’Mong village with a good mix of old and younger tea trees. The tea maker has years of experience making sun-dried teas, but this is the first time they have been made available to a wider audience. We have very high hopes for the future of this tea.
