Orchid Path White Tea

An all new white tea from Dien Bien province that has taken many years to perfect and bring to market. Made with bud and two leaves harvested from wild tea trees, the dry leaf is a kaleidoscope of brown, red, black with white tips. It brews to a clear, sparkling, lemon yellow liquor with smooth, velvety, rounded body.
Adding a third leaf to white tea can sometimes overpower the tea’s subtleties but Orchid Path maintains a balanced sweetness with a mouthfeel that is gentle at first and more stimulating as the brews progress. Aromas include herbs and lightly toasted grain with flavours of fresh tropical fruit, jasmine and honeysuckle.
Dien Bien has a unique climate compared to other wild tea areas. A longer, dryer spring season but summers that are much wetter. Combined with a rocky soil it dictates the overall character of the tea.
H’Mong families are the custodians of the wild tea trees that grow in the forests of Sin Chai. It is they who trek into the mountains and gather the leaves for processing. Orchid Path experiences a long, slow, wither using a combination of sun and indoor drying prior to a final gentle drying.
