ORIGIN: MOC CHAU, SON LA, VIETNAM

HARVEST: SEPTEMBER 2022

Three Moons is a lightly oxidised green oolong Tea that has been lightly roasted multiple times over a three month period to simulate the style of an aged tea.   Three Moons is both enigmatic and surprising offering a light toasted aroma reminiscent  of  roasted green beans coupled with  contrasting but complimentary flavours of sweet apple or melon.  The mild astringency of the first steep is missing in later brews to leave a pleasing warm aftertaste.

Produced  from leaves harvested from the Qingxin cultivar as a  standard pluck of one bud and up to three leaves the tea is sun withered, shaken and then oxidised to approximately 30%.  After a repeated  rolling and drying cycle the tea undergoes and extended period of roasting in the factory where it is gently heated for an hour and then allowed to rest.   The roast and rest is repeated multiple times over a period of three months - or three moons!

Three Moons is produced and 'aged'on a 33 hectare farm on the rolling Moc Chau plateau at an altitude between 1100 and 1200 metres .  The farm employees 65 people and can produce a total of 10 tonnes of finished tea each year.  In addition to tea, Moc Chau is also well known for dairy farming and the growing of plums, apricots and various types of flowers, including orchids.

Three Moons Oolong

Delicious and refreshing - similar to a Dong Ding, but with a slightly lighter and fruitier character.
