altAll of our Hatvala coffees are grown in the south of Vietnam and have been selected based on their quality and taste from estates that take the best care in growing and harvesting their beans.

The coffees that we offer for sale are freshly roasted with nothing added to help brew the perfect cup, whatever your taste or preference.  Because we only get our coffee roasted in small quantities and because all of our coffee is local then it is always fresh - and the fresher the coffee the better the taste.

We use both high grown Arabica coffee beans grown at altitudes over 1500 metres in Lam Dong province and top quality Robustas from Dak Lak. We offer these as 100% single origin beans in different roasts or as blends where the subtle taste of Arabica is given an extra boost by the stronger Robusta beans.

We also have a small quantity Robusta culi bean or peaberry as it is otherwise known and hope soon to have a Arabica culi for sale. So what is a culi? Normally the cherry of the coffee plant contains two beans that develop with flattened facing sides, but in about 5% of cases only a single bean develops and with nothing to flatten it grows as an oval bean. The resulting bean is often separated for roasting as its shape presents different roasting characteristics and density and is purported to have a sweeter taste.

The current range of Hatvala coffees comprises:

All Day Breakfast Coffee – medium roast, 100% high mountain Arabica. Low acidity, very strong aroma, medium sweet, full bodied.

Celebration Coffee – dark roast, 100% high mountain Arabica. Very low acidity, medium aroma, low sweetness, medium bodied

Heritage Coffee – medium roast blend of 70% high mountain Arabica and 30% Robusta. Medium acidity, strong aroma, medium sweet, full bodied, extra strength

Kick Start Coffee – dark roast blend of 70% high mountain Arabica and 30% Robusta. Low acidity, medium aroma, low sweetness, medium bodied, strong

No Nonsense Coffee – medium to dark culi (peaberry) Robusta. Low acidity, medium aroma, sweet, thin bodied, strong

Old Friend Coffee – medium roast, 100% Robusta. Low to medium acidity, medium to strong aroma, low sweetness, medium bodied, strong
